Self-taught landscape and animal photographer

  • Artist in residence at Crossroad Arts Center
  • Specializes in nightscapes and astrophotography 
  • Developed a unique photographic workflow to create photographs of hummingbirds that highlight a "prism" effect in their wings.
  • Developing a portfolio of composited images of historic sites with the Milky Way visible in the background. The photos represent what the original visitors to the site would have seen before light pollution eliminated the view.. 
  • Won 3rd place in the Washington Post Travel Contest
  • Contributor to PetaPixel, an online photography magazine


2013 To Present - Encorepreneur.Net
Co-founded this organization that presents a monthly program that includes networking, an interesting speaker and an introduction to scores of venues to Richmond business, civic and educational leaders. Our meetings average 175 attendees per month and more than 450 attended our largest meeting.

        • Encorepreneur's more than 110 speakers have included scientists, athletes, politicians, non-profit leaders, TV and movie performers, authors, WWII and Viet Nam heroes, civil rights leaders including a 70's Freedom RIder, and even Miss America, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson.
        • The group has visited more than 70 different venues in Richmond including schools, churches, athletic fields and arenas, event spaces, race tracks, swimming pools, libraries, Sesame Street, and many other interesting places. 
        • More than 65 encorepreneurs traveled by bus to Sumter, SC to see the total eclipse in 2017.


June, 2012 to 2016 -  AccelRVA, LLC
Provided strategic and financial consulting services to rapidly growing businesses. Projects includedActing CFO to a Raleigh, NC company that is a market leader in a niche market in the automotive aftermarket for electric vehicles such as the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf.

    • Assisting a local B2B services company with $5 million in sales as it prepares for an exit.
    • Serving as acting CFO and strategic planning resource for a $7 million (annual revenues) cloud computing company
    • Consulting with one of eBay’s “Top 100” sellers in a capital raise to enter a new market.


2008 to 2012 - Transact Capital - Managing Director, Capital Advisory Services

Provided sell-side transaction assistance and consulting services to companies ranging from start-ups to large multi-national companies.Projects included:

  • Award winning Richmond based “cloud” computing company
  • International energy company planning to build a manufacturing facility in the area.
  • Advanced manufacturing company who just completed 8-figure deal with international partner

  • Company formed in 2003 to sell used auto parts through retailers such as AutoZone.
  • Responsible for raising more than $16 million through 6 equity and debt offerings
